Proposition O: Our Opportunity
Nov. 4
August 28, 2008
Proposal Will Generate Funds
To Impact Every Bayless School
Without Increasing Our Tax Rate
Proposition O on the Nov. 4 ballot, is a no-tax-rate-increase bond issue that will enable us to begin to address the recommendations of the community-wide Bayless Student Success Task Force.
Those recommendations, unanimously endorsed by the Board of Education, all focus on building success for our students in the classroom and workplace.
This is a limited-time opportunity to secure $4.3 million in critical funding for our district without increasing residents’ tax rate.
Proposition O projects will begin to focus on the urgent needs in our schools to improve students’ learning environment through:
• Renovations to increase instructional space;
• Correcting out-of-code plumbing and electrical systems;
• Completing critical HVAC and lighting projects;
• Improving the safety and security of our students;
• Refinancing lease purchase bonds for continued strong fiscal management.
