Everyone is welcome at Bayless Middle School – Home of the Bronchos!

Bayless Middle School is a State and Nationally Recognized School of Character. Everyday we demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the development of good character, school citizenship and growing leadership. The faculty and staff at the junior high take great pride in our students, school and community. Our diversity is what gives us strength as a school.

Middle School is a time of change. The workload and social adjustments are greater here than at the immediate grades. Students are expected to attend school regularly, complete all assignments and demonstrate respect and responsibility. Your junior high years are exciting and filled with many new opportunities. This year we will provide opportunities for our students to grow leadership skills that will assist them in being more successful in high school and college.

We are very proud to provide exceptional learning experiences for seventh and eighth grade students. At BMS, we believe every child can be successful through rigorous, relevant and engaging instruction. We also understand that students learn differently and the faculty is prepared to deliver instruction in multiple formats. We make every effort to provide students with individual and personal learning opportunities to maximum their achievement. Our annual school goals keep us focused on the mission of our daily work with students.

IMPROVE COMPETENCY OUTCOMES

  • Meet Adequate Yearly Progress expectations for No Child Left Behind with focused interest in narrowing the achievement gap between subgroups
  • Achieve an attendance rate of 96% for all students

IMPROVE CARING OUTCOMES

  • Increase opportunities to grow leadership through the character education initiative to include students and faculty
  • Increase parent/guardian participation in their children’s education

We welcome you to Bayless Middle School and invite you to become a part of our school community. I look forward to serving your family during the upcoming school year. If you have questions, concerns or feedback, do not hesitate to share them with our faculty and staff.

Thank you in advance for your support in the growth, learning and success of your child.

Best regards,

Paul Sharp, Principal
